Pavlov Fiber Optic Installation Nears Finish Line in Peotone

The disruption from the village-wide installation of Pavlov Media’s new high-speed fiber optic network will soon be a memory, as officials reported Monday that the project is in its final weeks.

According to updates from the village administrator and engineer, Pavlov has approximately two weeks of installation work remaining in town. The subsequent restoration work, which includes repairing lawns, parkways, and driveways disturbed during the project, is expected to be completed by mid-July.

Officials strongly urged residents to report any property damage to the village hall as soon as possible to ensure repairs are made before the crews leave the area.

“Once they leave town, it’s going to be harder to get them to come back versus while they’re here, let’s get them to fix everything,” the administrator advised the board and public. He noted that crews have been responsive to repair requests and were seen performing restorations on Monday.

The project will provide residents with a new, competitive option for high-speed internet and phone services. When a trustee asked about the small green boxes that have appeared in residents’ yards, the administrator explained they are connection points where the company’s mainline will connect to individual homes.
