A section of East Crawford Street is slated for resurfacing this fall after the Peotone Village Board awarded a $176,934.25 contract to Iroquois Paving Corporation on Monday.

The project, funded by the village’s Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) revenues, will cover the portion of East Crawford Street between Route 50 and the railroad tracks. The work is part of the village’s annual capital improvement plan and is expected to be completed by October.

“This is an annual process we go through,” Village Administrator Nick Palmer explained. “This project was in our capital improvement plan.”

Iroquois Paving was the lowest of three pre-qualified bidders who submitted sealed bids for the project at a bid opening on July 9. The scope of work includes pavement resurfacing, intermittent curb and gutter replacement, pavement patching, and drainage structure adjustments.

The board approved the contract with a unanimous 6-0 vote. This project follows the previous resurfacing of West Crawford Street, continuing the village’s infrastructure maintenance efforts.
