The Peotone Village Board on Monday, August 25, 2025, approved a $7,500 contract to address needed masonry repairs at the Village Hall. The board authorized the agreement with Capstone Services, LLC of Mokena for tuck pointing and general brick work.
According to a memo from Village Administrator Nick Palmer, the building has several maintenance items that have been deferred over the years due to lack of funds. A facility assessment conducted by TRIA architecture consultants in April identified tuck pointing as an immediate need.
The approved work will repair the brick walls on the east side of the building along the ADA ramp and general brick work near the main public entrance. The scope of the project also includes the removal of debris and repair along the walkway of the ramp and front entrance.
The village sought three quotes for the project. In addition to the approved $7,500 bid from Capstone Services, the village received a quote for $6,680 from Bruno’s Tuckpointing and another for $10,400 from A-Above Masonry. Palmer noted in his memo that the proposal from Capstone was recommended as it included more inclusive work.
The board approved the resolution authorizing the work without discussion as part of its new business agenda.
