Village of Peotone Board Meeting | January 12, 2026

The Peotone Village Board met on Monday, January 12, 2026, to approve new business registrations, handle financial commitments for infrastructure, and set the schedule for upcoming zoning discussions. Mayor Chris Vieaux led the meeting, which was attended by Trustees Bowden, Hudson, Richards, Sandberg, Sluis, and Strba.

Mayor Seeks New Business Leads:
During his comments, Mayor Chris Vieaux wished residents a Happy New Year and updated the board on economic development efforts. He noted that the village has reached out to approximately 60 different businesses in an effort to attract them to Peotone. He encouraged trustees to forward any leads on potential businesses they encounter during their travels to his office for follow-up.

Financial Approvals:
The board approved the consent agenda, which included payroll and accounts payable. The payroll for the period ending December 20, 2025, totaled $77,209.27, and the period ending January 3, 2026, totaled $76,458.01. Accounts payable were approved in the amounts of $146,790.00 and $111,136.73 for their respective periods.

Raffle Licenses Issued:
Trustees approved raffle licenses for two local organizations. The Will County Farm Bureau was approved for two to four raffles per calendar year, and the Peotone American Legion Post 392 was granted a license for five or more raffles per calendar year.

Staff Reports:
Police Chief DeMik and Public Works Manager Bob Hennke had no new items to report to the board during the meeting. Village Engineer Troy Golem also stated he had no new report.
