Meeting Briefs: Peotone Township Board for May 19, 2025

Resident Awarded TOI Scholarship
Sherrill Knorr, the 2nd Vice President of the Township Officials of Illinois (TOI), presented a TOI Scholarship to Peotone resident Chase Rivera. Both Knorr and Rivera were in attendance at the meeting for the presentation. The statewide organization awards scholarships annually to civically engaged students, and this award brings statewide recognition to a local resident.

Road Department Prepares for Summer
Road Commissioner John Hack reported that the highway department is preparing for its summer work season. Crews are currently hauling stone in anticipation of various road maintenance and improvement projects throughout the township. The work is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to maintain the township’s more than 50 miles of roads.

April Election Results Certified
The board formally acknowledged receiving a Certificate of Results for the April election from the Will County Clerk’s office. The official notice confirms and finalizes the outcome of local races that were on the ballot, marking the procedural conclusion of the recent election cycle for the township.
