Lopez captured the discus title with a 22.90-meter toss, and O’Connor won the shot put with an 8.69-meter mark.

On the women’s side, Herscher Limestone utilized its formidable depth and relay execution to secure the team title with 62.5 points, holding off a strong Peotone squad (54.5) and Bradley Central (48).

Peotone’s Corinne Taylor was the undisputed star of the girls’ short sprints, sweeping the eighth-grade 100 meters in 14.7 seconds and the 200 meters in 31.8 seconds. Peotone also controlled the throwing events, with Skylar Helsel winning the discus (16.79m) and Gabi Chenoweth taking the shot put (6.44m).
