Klawitter Throws No-Hitter in Peotone’s Shutout Win Over Lisle

PEOTONE, IL – S. Klawitter delivered a masterful performance in the circle on Monday, tossing a complete-game no-hitter to lead the Peotone varsity softball team to a 4-0 conference victory over Lisle.

Klawitter was nearly unhittable, striking out 18 of the 25 batters she faced and issuing only three walks in her seven innings of work. The Lions were unable to generate any offensive momentum against the senior right-hander, as she kept the visitors off the basepaths for the duration of the contest.

The Peotone offense provided the necessary support, breaking the scoreless tie in the third inning. The Lady Blue Devils tacked on three crucial insurance runs in the fifth to pull away. Mary Klawitter anchored the offense with a multi-hit performance, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jillian Roark also chipped in, scoring twice and swiping a base in the victory.

Lisle’s pitchers kept the game close for the first four frames, but Peotone’s consistent pressure eventually broke through. The win moves Peotone to a solid standing in conference play, backed by one of the most dominant individual pitching performances of the season.
