Peotone Stumbles in 14-7 Non-Conference Loss to Dwight
The Peotone varsity baseball team fought through a back-and-forth contest on Thursday but ultimately fell to Dwight by a score of 14-7 in non-conference action.
Peotone took an early lead with a run in the first inning, but Dwight’s offense steadily climbed back, putting up runs in the second and third to claim the lead. The game remained within reach until a decisive seven-run fifth inning allowed Dwight to pull away.
Despite the late-game deficit, the Blue Devils showed resilience, mounting a five-run rally in the bottom of the sixth to narrow the gap. However, Dwight responded with runs in the final two innings to maintain control and secure the victory.
Dwight’s offense was formidable throughout the afternoon, recording 16 hits, including two home runs and two triples, while navigating a challenging Peotone defense.
