Mid-Game Surge Propels Chicago Christian Past Peotone 5-2

The Chicago Christian varsity baseball team utilized a five-run outburst across the middle innings to erase an early deficit and secure a 5-2 non-conference home victory over Peotone on Saturday afternoon.

Peotone broke the ice early, scratching across a run in the top of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead. Junior Tyler Leitelt and Lincoln Tierney served as the offensive catalysts for the Blue Devils throughout the contest. Both batters finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Leitelt also added a stolen base and a run scored, while Tierney and senior Everett Carder were each credited with an RBI.
